QTS Numeracy Skills Test Tuition
From September 2013, all trainee teachers need to pass the QTS Numeracy Skills Test before they start their training.
The QTS Skills Test comprises of a numeracy and literacy test and many students struggle with the Numeracy Test due to low confidence in their ability or sheer panic when it comes to the timed mental questions.
The Numeracy test is comprised of 12 mental arithmetic questions, with a time limit of 18 seconds to answer, plus 16 mathematical questions that test your ability to interpret data and solve problems. I am able to offer you the skills to overcome these hurdles by providing tips on how to manage your time effectively on the mental arithmetic section as well as teach areas of mathemetics that you may have forgotten or are unsure of. My advice would be to initially have attempt Test 1 on QTS Skills Test practice questions and it will provide you with an indication of which areas need to be targeted.
Over the last few years, I have helped many students to pass this test and the sessions have been invaluable for those entering Primary Education as they found the confidence and enjoyment to be able to teach a subject that they previously did not understand. The number of sessions depends on individual ability and confidence together with the amount spent in between revising and working on areas that you are less confident with. The pressure to pass these tests is immense as you are only limited to three attempts so don’t let these tests hinder your career. Contact me to work together to give you the best chance to pass first time.
